SUSTAINABLE RELATIONS TO NATURE

The Nova KBM Group recognised among its strategic stakeholders also the natural environment. Since the Bank, as a service provider, wants to act in a sustainable and socially responsible manner also in this area, it has identified its impacts on the natural environment. The biggest impacts that can be managed by the Bank include energy, the use of resources, and banking products that can stimulate responsible management of the natural environment by other entities present on the market.

ATTITUDE TOWARDS NATURE

Nature is an important part of managing sustainable development. Important influences are energy efficiency, and careful use of limited resources. We pay more attention to development of responsible investments which enable the investors to realize green projects.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

In bank we are monitoring greenhouse gas emissions. Trying to reduce our carbon footprint, we care for energy and natural sources saving, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES

The management of resources is broad in scope as our banking is geographically diverse. The key areas of our resource management are efficient use of energy, and sustainable mobility.

WATER SAVING

Water is the source of life. Conservation of natural resources is not only a value, but it is an operating method. Whenever possible we encourage our employees, partners and other associates to drink tap water. Drinking tap water is healthier and more environment-friendly than using bottled water, as it reduces carbon footprint.

PAPER SAVING

In bank we are taking various measures and conducting projects to save when printing and using paper. In the last years we successfully introduced paperless environment using e-notifications, e-filing, e-internal acts, and other initiatives. Program Klick for environment – print less informs our employees and clients about the meaning of paper-saving and has a positive impact on their attitude towards environment. With all our activities we save more than a hundred trees a year.

DIFFERENTIATED WASTE COLLECTION

The key element of the circular economy is the separate collection of waste. The bank has been conducting separate collection of waste for many years. Non-hazardous waste that is separately collected and removed is 100 % recycled.

FINANCING GREEN PROJECTS

Nova KBM is searching for new investment opportunities in sustainable development, green technology, and climate-friendly projects. As investors we took part in the first green bond issuance in Slovenia, the new financial instrument developed by GEN-I. We are collaborating with SID bank where we borrowed long-term sources also intended for funding the development of green society and production.
