Our busy bees in their hives of our Urban Beehive on top of the office building in Maribor did an excellent job. According to the experienced beekeepers from the Beekeepers’ Association of Štajerska, who are helping us maintain our Urban Beehive, our bees gave us the greatest harvest far and wide.
One year ago, on World Bee Day, we gave 5 bee families a new home in the beehive on the roof of our office building in Maribor. By planting honey plants in the immediate vicinity we also made sure that our bees feel well in their new home.
We were very excited about our first very own honey harvest and were hardly able to await the first nice, sunny day in the first half of July that would allow us to collect the first drops of honey. Following the successful and harmonized efforts of four experienced beekeepers, we are proud to report that we harvested nearly 40 kg of honey from the honeycomb.
Once we get it cleaned up, we will store the honey in small cups that we will give away as special gifts.
